Wire Transfers

Wire transfers allow you to send or receive funds to a domestic or international account. Wires sent within the United States typically arrive at the receiving institution within 24 hours. Wires sent internationally will vary based on the destination country and bank.

Before wiring money, please ensure that you know the identity of the party you are sending money to. Some scammers prey on unsuspecting people by asking them to pay money for something they have won or to receive a deposit from another country such as Canada, England, or Nigeria. Often times these scammers request funds via wire transfer, so it is always best to confirm the identity of who you are dealing with. Visit the Federal Trade Commissions’ website for current scams.

Sending Wires

To initiate a wire transfer, please complete our Application for Wire Transfer form, call our Contact Center at 845.463.3011, or visit any of our branches. We do not accept wire instructions via email or live chat.

Domestic wire transfer requests must be completed and received by 4:00 pm ET, Monday through Friday, for same-day processing. International wire transfer requests must be completed and received by 2:30 pm ET, Monday through Friday for same-day processing. Requests received after those times will be processed the next business day.

You need the following when sending wire transfers within the United States:

  • Name and routing number of the destination institution.
  • Name, address (if known), and account number of the recipient.
  • Any additional instructions (further credit to, etc.).

You need the following when sending wire transfers outside the United States:

  • Name and SWIFT number of the destination institution.

  • Any additional instructions (further credit to, etc)

Please note, providing the requested information above will help prevent potential processing delays and fees.

HVFCU wire transfer fees vary dependent upon whether the transfer is made to a domestic or international financial institution. Refer to our Fee Schedule for applicable wire transfer fees. Additional fees may apply based on the receiving institution.

Receiving Wires

If the funds are coming from a financial institution within the United States, provide the sender with your member account number, account ID, and HVFCU’s routing number, which is 221979363.

If the funds are coming from a financial institution outside the United States, that institution will need to transfer funds to a U.S. processing institution with which they maintain a relationship. That institution will then wire funds to HVFCU using routing number 221979363 and your member account number / account ID. Please note, HVFCU does not have a SWIFT number.

Refer to our Fee Schedule for applicable wire transfer fees. Fees charged by other financial institutions can vary.
