Two Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (HVFCU) staff members were honored recently with the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Forty Under 40 Shaker Award. Senior Financial Consultant Matt Giorgi and Branch Manager Brennan Williams were among the 40 people under the age of 40 noted for their strong commitment to the Hudson Valley. Matt and Brennan were selected from a pool of more than 100 applicants, and join the finalists for 2012 including school teachers, entrepreneurs, non-profit staff, and other business professionals throughout Dutchess County, New York. The Awards were presented at an event on Monday, March 19th.
Matt Giorgi joined HVFCU in 2000 as a customer service representative. He has held a variety of positions since then and is now a Senior Financial Consultant, ranking in the top 10% nationally for Financial Consultants working through LPL (the credit union’s investment programs broker dealer). Matt chaired the credit union’s Community Involvement Committee (CIC) for two years in 2004-2006, and has remained active with the group to plan and participate in local charity events. HVFCU’s CIC organizes more than 20 events each year for staff involvement in the community, from charity events such as walk-a-thons to drives for both funds and goods. In addition, Matt chairs HVFCU Financial Services “Area Fund” held at the Community Foundation, leading and organizing HVFCU’s Financial Consultants to support the fund and determine future grant decisions.
Brennan Williams began his career with Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (HVFCU) in 2001 as a branch financial service representative. Since then, he has been promoted several times to his current position of Branch Manager in the Highland and Civic Center Branches. Brennan was the Chairman of HVFCU’s Community Involvement Committee from 2008 through 2009. During this time he led several projects such as National Rebuilding Day each April. Brennan earned his undergraduate degree from SUNY Oswego, and is pursuing his MBA from Utica College.
