HVFCU Financial Services, a division of the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, today announced the appointment of Alex Morphet as a Financial Consultant based in its Kingston, N.Y., office.
“Alex’s personal attention and dedication in helping people obtain financial guidance is clear to everyone he meets,” said Jeffrey G. Thatcher CFP®, Director of HVFCU Financial Services. “Since joining the credit union in 2001, Alex has helped hundreds of HVFCU members to pursue their financial goals, save for college and plan for a secure retirement.”
As an HVFCU Financial Services Consultant, Morphet is experienced in investment management, retirement planning, tax advantaged college savings programs, and estate planning. He is also certified by the New York State Insurance Department as an approved long-term care and life insurance professional.
As an active member of the community, Morphet devotes much of his time assisting local charitable organizations. Of particular interest to Morphet is the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, where he has spent the past three years mentoring youths in the Poughkeepsie Middle School to help them prepare for successful futures. Last year, Morphet was awarded the site-based Mentor of the Year award by Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Dutchess County for his work with the children. Morphet lives in Hyde Park, N.Y., with his wife and daughter.
Morphet is currently enrolled in the CFP® Program, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. The CFP® Board is a professional regulatory organization acting in the public interest by fostering professional standards in personal financial planning. The CFP® Board establishes and enforces education, examination, experience and ethics requirements for CFP®.
Morphet is based at HFVCU’s Kingston branch, which is located at 1639 Ulster Ave (Route 9W) at Grant Avenue.
