Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (HVFCU) announced today that it will host the dedication ceremony of a monument memorializing Sean P. McGuire, a firefighter with the Vails Gate Fire Department who perished battling a fire on February 14, 1986. The dedication ceremony will be held at the site of the fire, 265 Windsor Highway in New Windsor, New York. The credit union opened a branch office at that site earlier this year and placed a monument and flagpole on the grounds in order to recognize the memory of Mr. McGuire.
The dedication will take place at 10:00 a.m. Members of the Vails Gate Fire Department will be present at the event. It is open to the public. The ceremony will be led by Deacon Larry Kawula, the fire department’s chaplain.
