Poughkeepsie, NY – April 23, 2010
Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (HVFCU) is strong and safe said T.S. Jones, Chairman of HVFCU, before more than 600 members at the credit union’s 47th Annual Membership Meeting.
The meeting was held on Wednesday, April 21, at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie.
“This has been a challenging year for all of us, but with our great staff, excellent management, and concerned Board of Directors, we have remained strong and safe during 2009,” said Mr. Jones.
He also said the credit union will open an office in Highland, New York, in October, 2010.
Members of the credit union elected three candidates to the institution’s Board of Directors. Re-elected to serve three-year terms were David S. Bagley and Joseph E. Eppich. Misty Decker was elected to the credit union’s Board of Directors for the first time. Ms. Decker is an employee of IBM and has been a credit union member since 1991.
Following the meeting, the Board of Directors took action on the reorganization of the Board. Officers for 2010-2011 are: Chairman, Mr. Jones; First Vice Chairman, Takao Inouye; Second Vice Chairman, Mr. Eppich; Treasurer, Mr. Bagley; Assistant Treasurer, Henry J. Rodgers; and Secretary, Larry J. Prescott.
In addition to the above, Noreen Hennessy and Gabriel B. Roy also are board members.
William Danko Was Guest Speaker
Besides credit union business, William Danko, author of the best selling book, The Millionaire Next Door, served as the guest speaker at the Annual Membership Meeting. Mr. Danko’s book was on the New York Times’ bestseller list for more than three years.
