Poughkeepsie, New York – January 24, 2008
Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (HVFCU) announced today that is has broken ground on a new branch location in the town of Ulster, New York. The new branch office will be located at the intersection of Route 9W and Grant Avenue. This will be the credit union’s first branch office in Ulster County.
Mary D. Madden, HVFCU President and CEO, says, “Our membership has grown in Ulster County since we converted to a community charter in 2003. Our new branch in Ulster will allow us to make it much easier for our existing members as well as new members to access our financial products and services.”
The facility will be 5,870 square feet in size. It will provide space for six teller windows, five offices for financial services representatives, two drive-up teller lanes, one drive-up ATM and one lobby ATM.
Turner Construction is managing construction of the new branch office. Arris Contracting Company of Poughkeepsie is the general contractor for the site. R. W. Larson Associates, PC, designed the facility.
The target completion date is the fall of 2008.
The credit union is currently in the middle of a major branch expansion. New offices recently have opened in Middletown, New York, Pleasant Valley, New York, and Poughkeepsie with more planned for the future. A larger office recently was opened in Newburgh, New York, replacing a facility that had been there for 10 years.
HVFCU is a full service, not-for-profit financial cooperative, offering about 200,000 members real estate and consumer loans, a wide variety of saving and transactional accounts, investment services, estate planning, trust services and business services. Property and casualty insurance is available through the Insurance Agency of the Hudson Valley, an affiliate of HVFCU.
The credit union has more than $2 billion in assets. It serves its members through ten branch offices in Dutchess and Orange Counties and four Dutchess County IBM branches. The credit union also offers members 24-hour account access by Internet and telephone, and a nationwide network of ATMs.
