Securely pay anyone, anywhere in the US, anytime.

Bill Pay is a free service for all members that allows you to receive, pay, and track all of your bills online – avoiding the need to write checks, mail bills, or pay for postage. Simply schedule your payments and the funds are automatically withdrawn from your designated HVFCU checking account on the date you have specified the bill be paid.

With Popmoney, you can send or request money — just as you might do through other online payment services, such as PayPal. All you need is a person’s email address or mobile phone number 1. Regardless of where they bank, the money you send goes directly from your HVFCU checking account into the individual’s account, usually within one business day.

To get started, click the “External Transfer” option from the “Move Money” menu within Internet Banking.

Why Pay with Popmoney?

  • It is free to use and you are not charged a fee to send your payments.
  • There are no fees to receive payments through Popmoney, so recipients receive the full amount of money sent to them.
  • You can create one-time only or recurring payments, or schedule payments for dates in the future.
  • You don’t need checks, stamps, or cash to pay someone.
  • Recipients don’t have to bring cash or checks to a branch to deposit their money.
  • You can pay anyone in the United States 2 — recipients do not have to be HVFCU members in order to pay them through Popmoney.
  • You may add multiple email addresses or mobile phone numbers for any contact or receive money through multiple email addresses or mobile phone numbers.
  • You have the choice to select from a number of e-greeting templates for payment notifications via email.

Why Request Payment with Popmoney?

  • It is free to use and you are not charged a fee to request payments.
  • There are no fees to receive payments through Popmoney, so recipients receive the full amount of money sent to them.
  • Money is deposited to your account three business days after the payment is made.
  • Individuals you request money from don’t have to be HVFCU members.

Payment Debiting

When you send a payment, the timing of when the money is withdrawn from your account is based on whether the recipient of the payment is a Popmoney user or not:

  • If a recipient is already a Popmoney user, the money you send will be debited from your account the next business day.
  • If a recipient is not already a Popmoney user, the money you send will not be debited from your account until they become a Popmoney user and claim their money.

Unclaimed Payments

Payments have a preset expiration date, and any unclaimed payments will expire within 14 days of being sent. You will receive notification of any unclaimed payments, and the money that goes unclaimed is not deducted from your account.

Troubleshooting – I’m a Popmoney User But Got an Invitation To Become A User

It is possible to receive an invitation to become a Popmoney user even though you are already using the service. If someone sends money to you via a different email address or mobile phone number from what is stored in Popmoney, you will get another invitation to become a user. Since you are already using the service, there is no need to sign up again.

On the “Send Money” page within Popmoney, click the “Get Money” option, enter the transaction code and your email address or mobile number, and click “Get Money”. The money is deposited into your account, and the payment details are added to your history.
